17 Sep 08 - a huge thank you to all the businesses and players who helped us raise a whopping £4,200 at our popular annual charity golf event. Fifty four players from Kent and the City played a challenging course and enjoyed the evening dinner, magician and charity auction.

5 Sep 08 -  we have developed an exciting partnership with Maidstone Young Families to deliver a new DCFS funded project over the next couple of years to enable young parents to volunteer inform the way that public services are developed for future young parents. The young people will be undertaking the Level 2 BTEC in Peer Education. The project willo start this Autumn and we will release more information soon.

1 Sep 08 - as part of the Aiming Higher for Young Disabled People plans, Kent Youth helped plan and deliver an August residential short break weekend and has been commissioned to develop the me2 programme even wider to benefit more young people

5 Aug 08 - BBC Children in Need confirm £93,000 over three years to enable us to support more young disabled people to achieve inclusion in mainstream groups

20 Jul 08 -  as part of further increasing support for our growing network of affiliated chidlren and young people's groups, we have created and appointed to three new Club Development Officer posts. Located in the Thames Gateway, West Kent and East Kent areas, these new posts will provide a vital local support and development role in each area.

11-13 July 08 - over 1,000 young people came to see us at our stand during the County Show. They wrote messages and drew images on our temporary graffit wall.

4 July 08 - Schools, charities and local authority youth services join us at our conference to share good practice in peer mentoring and peer education as part of our exit from our v funded programme (2006-2008). We were delighted that young volunteer peer mentors from Fulston Manor School shared their experience during the event.

20 Jun 08 -  we published a draft forward strategy 2008-2012 for consultation. Titled "so much for the past, what of the future?" the document wil be a guiding framework for all our major decisions and allocation of resources. It will give focus to our work as we build up towards our 75th Anniversary year of celebration and fundraising in 2011-2012 

1 Apr 08 - Nicola McCormack and Emma Jeal officially start our new activeyouth programme, part of the national vinvolved programme

14 Jan 08 - Sarah Gilbert is appointed a Trustee of Kent Youth.

1 Dec 07 - 400 guests including the High Sheriff and Mayoral representatives from Medway and many Boroughs and Districts joined in our annual carol service. With performances by Sutton Valence School Choir and the Kent Messenger Medway Band, it was a wonderful evening which heled to raise £2,000

14 Nov 07 - Kent Youth is awarded £229,000 by national youth volunteering charity, v, under their vinvolved programme to develop the activeyouth programme over three years starting in April 2008.

16 Jul 07 - after 40 years of unstinting service to our organisation and youth work, Ron Thurman retired his Trusteeship of Kent Youth. During our Annual General Meeting, Ron was elected a Vice President of Kent Youth
